Still writing your grocery list on the back of an envelope? Shop’NCook can bring your weekly shopping into the twenty-first century. It quickly stores recipes and manages grocery lists, and the tabbed interface offers several tools, including a grocery list manager and a recipe organizer. Recipes go into multiple cookbooks featuring detailed information on ingredients, preparation, and nutrition. Users can download additional cookbooks or import recipes in Meal-Master (MMF), TXT, and HTML formats. They also can share recipes with the free Shop’NCook Cookbook Reader. Given a recipe and a number of servings, the program can calculate nutritional content and the amount of ingredients required. The handy shopping list includes nonfood categories, such as cleaning supplies and personal care, and you can print the list to take along. The downside? The trial version limits cookbooks to 20 new recipe entries. Otherwise, Shop’NCook makes planning meals and organizing shopping trips a snap.

Smart recipe organizer combined with a grocery list manager. Recipes are easily added by typing them in, pasting them from the clipboard, or importing directly from the internet: no formatting is necessary. Shop’NCook imports also several popular formats (SCX, MM, MXP, MX2 and NYC). The wizard interprets the recipes, link them to the large database of grocery items and yield the nutritional analysis automatically. The powerful scaling tool lets you scale the ingredients and the text of your recipes, make automatic ingredient substitutions and unit conversions. The ingredients of the recipes are converted to your preferred shopping units and added to the grocery list with a click. Contrary to most cooking software, grocery lists can also be created by directly selecting items of the database, adding from sublists or just typing in new items.
Other features: recipes can link to other recipes; nutrition scripts to control the display of nutritional information and compute custom nutritional formulas; e-mail tool to send recipes and shopping lists; direct access to an online recipe database where Shop’NCook users share their recipes.

This release includes the following new features and fixes: works on Leopard; the wizard window includes a Paste button; supports drag & drop operations to add new recipes and add picture to recipes; new toggle function in the recipe editor to change conveniently an ingredient line into an instruction line; display the current unit weight in the measure cup dialog of the recipe editor.
